Gun Contact with KKB Again Occurs in Suru-suru District, One TNI Soldier Suffers Gunshot Wound

Another gun battle occurred between security forces and the Armed Criminal Group ( KKB ) in Suru-Suru District, Yahukimo Regency, Papua , Saturday (27/11/2021). As a result of the incident, a TNI personnel suffered gunshot wounds.

“The shooting contact caused one member of the TNI Task Force to suffer a gunshot wound,” said Kapendam XVII/Cenderawasih Colonel Arm Reza Nur Patria, via text message, Sunday (11/28/2021).

It’s just that Reza did not explain in detail the identity of the victim and where the soldier was shot. Reza confirmed that the victim is currently under treatment and his condition is stable. “The victim’s condition is conscious and stable. Currently, the victim has been evacuated to Yahukimo Hospital for further medical treatment,” he said.

TNI personnel, continued Reza, have continued to try to control the security situation in Suru-Suru since the KKB acted in the area on November 20, 2021. “We ask for prayers from all of us, hopefully all TNI and Polri officers who are on duty on Cenderawasih Earth to maintain the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia are always under the protection of God Almighty,” said Reza.

Previously, the KKB led by Tendius Gwijangge attacked the Suru-Suru Preparatory Koramil on Saturday (20/11/2021) morning. Gunfire had occurred for six hours and as a result of the incident, Sertu Ari Baskoro died.

Meanwhile, the Koramil Commander, Captain Inf. Arviandi, suffered gunshot and stab wounds, and is currently being treated at RST Marthen Indey Jayapura. Then, KKB returned to action by burning five kiosk units in Suru-Suru on November 23, 2021.

Egianus Kogoya’s group, which has been in Nduga Regency, is suspected to have joined in Suru-suru because the area is a border area between Yahukimo, Asmat, and Nduga.
